Yesterday I was reminded how short life can be.
We are fighting colds at our house. Monday night I was up until around 2:30 AM working on stuff. This seems to be my normal routine anymore. I spent the rest of the night not getting much sleep with a 19 month old who didn’t feel good [...]

I want my mother…

..and to add to all of these feelings I’ve been having concerning the arrival of my sweet little niece, last Friday would have been my mother’s birthday. I miss her…terribly. Life is truly unfair at times. She should have lived to see my children. They would have loved her.

I wouldn’t actually flick someone’s forehead. It’s a joke. Contrary to my strong beliefs and what I post here, I’m actually quite non-confrontational. I quake at the thought of confronting people. I’m not the greatest park mom. I really don’t get into pushing someone on a swing countless [...]

my 19 month old….

My life is good – really good. I’m at a point where I am just really enjoying my kids. I find that when I am really into consensual living, everything falls into place, everyone gets along (for the most part), and we all really enjoy spending time with one another. It’s when MY expectations (or [...]

As unschoolers who didn’t grow up with this lifestyle, I know some of us sometimes wonder if we are doing enough. Scientific American recently published an article about The Serious Need For Play. It might help quell some of those fears when they crop up. Well, you know, besides watching your children learn and thrive [...]
