..and to add to all of these feelings I’ve been having concerning the arrival of my sweet little niece, last Friday would have been my mother’s birthday. I miss her…terribly. Life is truly unfair at times. She should have lived to see my children. They would have loved her.

The kids decided they wanted to make chocolate chip cookies, only for us to discover we were missing a few key ingredients. Not to be dissuaded, we decided to improvise.
